Ed, thanks for the eastern species. butterfly We're having a great month and there's a few days left even though this week looks like a bit of a washout. I never thought I'd have one pelican on a monthly challenge, never mind two species. Crazy! Thanks all for playing

We had an above average month. Struck out on grouse and the more eastern corvids (Canada Jay, nutcracker) and no Rough-legged Hawk. I just saw my first yesterday!
Added: Black Scoter from Harrison Oct 13 Swamp Sparrow (three seen over the month) Jamie's Townsend's Warbler from the Blue Heron Reserve Northern Pygmy-owl from one of my backroad journeys Nothern Saw-whet Owl spent a day roosting locally Tundra Swans late in the month Golden Eagle also late this month going over
