Sept 30 evening at the Great Blue Heron

The weather got nice yesterday evening so we decided to finish the holiday with a walk at the Great Blue Heron Reserve. It is a bit different at that time of day. Highlights were three Blue-winged Teal and a pair of Great Horned Owls hooting.

The real highlight of the outing was the beavers that came out right at dark. We counted seven of them!

Munching away on pond weeds. Two of the smaller ones were feeding closely together and we think we could hear them muttering softly to each other. A wonderful experience!
