I was in the right place at the right time and saw a Magnolia Warbler near the horse pond immediately north of the ‘Triangle’ in the west end of the equestrian area. Didn’t see it for long and it moved west. Also ran into a Veery (had one here similar timing a few years ago) and an American Redstart. A few Purple Martins overhead which is becoming a regular late August thing here now. Lots of birds sounds in here today wish I had time to look more.

Awesome on the Madnolia Warbler. Everyone knows that you are always in the right place at the right time. Way to go Gord!

I wasn't expecting to see it, but did take a look this morning.
Had Redstart, Orange-crowned, and Black-throated Gray.
Nice find Gord 👍

Too bad, Jon. Those little ones are probably one of the hardest to find again given there's lots of places for them to go there. Another good warbler for that park. I've got several warbler life birds there over the years (Blackpoll, Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided and Tennessee). I think the only Blackpoll Warbler records (three or four) for the Fraser Valley are from Island 22. Didn't get to the computer last night to share the only photo I could get of this little bird. I felt lucky to get it as it was in a hawthorn for less than a minute then flew over my head higher into a cottonwood and that was that. 021_5562 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr
