Around noon today I had a bright orange Oriole visit my empty feeders. The way it was perched on the feeder I had good views of the head and tail from underneath. The wing and belly were hidden behind the feeder. The head had a solid black cap that came to the eye line, from the eye line down bright orange with no black on the throat. The tail, from underneath, was orange with two large white elliptical patches.

That is interesting!
All the North American Orioles either have a black throat, or do not have black on the head, so your combination doesn't match any of them.
Very intriguing
