I had to go to Vancouver today, and decided to go to Pt. Roberts afterwards. My theory was it wouldn't be as rainy as Vancouver, being in the rain shadow, and maybe, the weather system would blow in some interesting birds. I was sort of right on both counts. It was sunny, but windy there in the p.m., and quite birdy, ( as far as total number of birds was concerned ), although nothing unusual. At Lighthouse Marine Park. COMMON LOON WESTERN GREBE DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANT PELAGIC COROMORANT HARLEQUIN DUCK SURF SCOTER RED-BREASTED MERGANSER BLACK TURNSTONE SANDERLING BONAPARTE'S GULL MEW GULL GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL COMMON MURRE NORTHERN SHRIKE; ( juvenile ). ALASKAN SONG SPARROW HOUSE FINCH On the way home, the gull flock on the Ladner Trunk Road route seemed seemed very large. Unfortunately, dusk was settling in, and I couldn't scope the flock(s).
