I did some birding this morning and noticed some interesting fish at Cheam Lake Wetlands. They were mainly brownish but what stood out to me was the light blue/aqua edging on their fins, plus a red spot on each side fin. They were about 6 - 10 inches long, hanging out close to the surface in the shallows near the floating walkway. In half an hour of googling I haven't been able to figure out what they might be. Anyone know what they could be? Maybe non-native?

Pumpkinseed Sunfish, illegally introduced. They’ll look a bit dull in the water. I saw an otter eating one there recently
