We went for a walk at Cheam Lake yesterday. It was quite birdy. We got attacked on the Loop Trail by a Ruffed Grouse hen protecting at least one chick. There was another adult in the undergrowth as well. Further along on the Loop Trail we had an American Redstart singing. Perhaps they will breed again in the park like last year. Other highlights was a Red-breasted Sapsucker (been awhile since I've last seen one here) and the Bank Swallows are back with at least three over the lake. They were kicking up a fuss and chasing each other about making me think they're planning to breed again in the area.
