I did some more raptor watching today. There seemed to be more action coming in from the south today. The usual suspects were seen (Turkey Vulture the most numerous today) and it was neat to see two Swainson's Hawk. One was seen about halfway through my hour or so watch and the other was near the end.
It's the spring of the Whimbrel as I had three fly past. I suspect there was a second larger flock of 20ish that also went past but I just saw at a distance with my binoculars briefly. I can't think what else they were but let them go.

It was a good day for Swainson's Hawk again today. I saw a pair spread out during about an hour watch of passing raptors.
This afternoon on our way home from Abbotsford we drove through Sumas Prairie and the little birder in the family spotted a hawk that turned out to be a Swainson's! Nicely done. A proud moment. There were actually two hunting over a field. A lifer for him. These birds were near the corner of McDermott and Campbell Roads. I don't think they are the birds from this morning as both of them were passing over quite high up and seemed to continue on a northeast direction.
