Yesterday late morning I watched migrating raptors over Sumas Mountain over near Hougan Park. Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk and Turkey Vulture were most numerous in that order. The odds and ends included a lone Merlin and an Adult Golden Eagle. The eagle was at an eye-watering distance even in my scope to start but happily worked its way closer for the ID. I also had a fly by Least Sandpiper which happily called or I wouldn't have been sure which peep it was. Nice to get the eagle for May.
