Birds have been arriving very quickly and in excellent numbers throughout April. The weather has been fairly good but many of the lakes still are mostly frozen. There wasn’t much snow during the winter so all of the snow has been gone in the bush for a few weeks now. Shorebirds are starting to arrive but I haven’t seen my first warbler yet.
Usually, the first waterfowl congregate in fields.
It has been an excellent Spring for Rough-legged Hawks. The other day I had 4 in a kilometer stretch.
