On the 6th there were hundreds of swallows above Silver-Hope creek and sewage lagoons. There was an insect hatch going on, meeting a migration. Violet-green and Tree. Saw one Yellow-rumped Warbler.
Yesterday, with heavy rain, strong winds and heavier rain with changing strong gusts, it was a great bird day. There were far fewer swallows, but they were much tighter to the creek and kept using me as a back stop for insect herding. This constant fly by allowed me to pick out several Cliff Swallows among the TRSW and VISW. There was a new hatch on the creek of critters crawling out on to the rocks. There were dozens of Yellow-rumped Warblers in and on the rocks feeding. There were hundreds around the creek and lagoons. There were also a least 3 female Mountain Bluebirds hunting the same prey, they stood on the rocks close to me, so I could admire them.
