Hi I was eating my wife's delicious meatball soup for lunch when my wife, looking out the window, saw a male Rufous sitting in our Flaming Bush shrub in our backyard garden. It was the first of the year for us. We will need to set out a second feeder, as these spring hummers will be very hungry.

That's the first one I've heard of from the Fraser Valley. Congrats! Just Anna's at our feeders still for us.

I'm hoping my first hummingbird of the year comes with meatball soup too!

I had my first Rufous sightings on Mar. 29 - 2 males - And my first rufous at my feeder - April 1 - a sweet little gal - much later than last year (first sighting was Mar. 20). Spotted 3 male on April 1 when I walked the lower trail at Paige Road. Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) by Gabi Cuff, on Flickr
