This morning at Columbia Valley at the intersection of Columbia Valley Hwy and Henderson Road I saw four White-winged Crossbill fly by. I was looking the wrong way but happily they were calling so I was able to turn around and spot them. I wonder if we're going to have an irruption year of them too given all the Pine Siskins that have shown up. Harrier saw a flock on Elk Mountain in October as I recall too. Surprisingly no more Common Redpoll after the initial sightings in October.

We had a huge flock of Siskins in Glen Valley today. We also spent a week at Radium Hotsprings where we saw numerous big flocks of Crossbills and Siskins so you may be right about an irruption year. Made a blog for the Radium trip. Here is a link: lenanddiansadventures.blogspot.com
