Dian and I were walking Wilband this morning. A woman approached us jogging. There was a young deer following her. She stopped to talk and said it had been following for a while. The deer stopped too, and followed her again when she jogged away. The deer passed us at about 5 feet. We think it may have been separated from its mother and adopted the jogger. It was really weird. There 4 Canvasbacks on the Southwest pond.

Cute little thing. Definitely born this spring. Hope it stays safe from the coyotes.

Cute little thing. Definitely born this spring. Hope it stays safe from the coyotes. That's what I was thinking, and off-lease dogs. After talking to a few regular walkers it has been there for about 5-6 days.

The young deer at Wilband was putting on a show this morning. It was running and jumping and having a good time (gamboling). I think I have figured out how this deer arrived here. A few weeks ago I saw a dead deer on the highway across from the ponds.
