I paid an early-morning visit to Sunshine Valley at the little lake north of the highway. It was birdy as it almost always is. In a big patch of Common Tansy a Clay-coloured Sparrow posed briefly in the sun that has recently came over the mountains. I was slow with the camera and had to settle for a long-distance documentation photo. 019_9523 by Gord G, on Flickr Grey Catbirds continue as well with one actually showing itself as it fed on Red-osier Dogwood berries. 019_9529 by Gord G, on Flickr A Vesper Sparrow was feeding with a small flock of Savannah Sparrows. I also saw a Vesper Sparrow at Hope Airport today. There were still good numbers of Yellow Warbler and even more Common Yellowthroat. A Least Sandpiper at the shore of the lake made up for the poor photos shared thus far in this report. 019_9428 by Gord G, on Flickr September is a great birding month!

Good birds. I had a Vesper at Harrison as well.
