On the turf farms on Dixon Road between No 5 and No 4 Roads there were 10 Baird's Sandpipers. They were the part of the field that had been recently 'de-turfed' (?) so was mostly dirt. I think this might be the most I've seen of this species in one place in our checklist area. I was keeping an eye out for Buff-breasted Sandpipers. It was around this time of year last year that I saw some not far from where I saw the Baird's.

Ed and I checked out Sumas Prairie and discovered the Baird's Sandpipers. We had 7 with 3 Killdeer on the turf farm along Dixon and another Baird's with some Killdeer on a turf farm along Marrion Road. This was between 8 and 9:30 a.m. John Vooys
