Greetings, My family and I camped for a few days in a circuit last week. We spent the first two nights at Hayne's Point Provincial Park in Osoyoos. This has got to be one of the easiest places to see California Quail as dozens of them regularly went through our campsite. Kettle River Recreation Area has a recent burn nearby and when we camped there last year, Black-backed Woodpecker were present. This year it didn't take long to see them again a short walk from the campsite. BBWP2 by Dave Beeke, on Flickr Kettle River Recreation Area is an easy place to see many Lewis' Woodpecker as well. The last two nights we camped at Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park and an early morning kayak paddle with my wife saw us side by side with sharp-looking loons. Some great images, particularly those Loon photos. I envy you the Black-backed Woodpecker, that is one my bucket list.
