Great shots! There has also been one hanging out at Fishtrap.

Nice shots John. Wonder if they are nesting nearby.

I have been following a nesting pair at the Page Rd entrance to Matsqui Trail Park this spring and summer. Saturday morning the chick was by itself in the nest, which I have never seen before. Were both parents looking for food? I do not think the young Osprey was fledged yet but it did not seemed too upset about being alone, it was not calling out at all. It flapped it's wings a couple times, watched the train, pooped, and watched a dozen Turkey Vultures over on Sumas Mountain and lay down deeper in the nest where I could not see it. Are the parents looking further out for food? I do not think this is a youngster who is fledged and went back to the nest. Perhaps it's parents have been going to Mill Lake and Fishtrap Creek looking for food? I have heard there is another family group in the area. Young Osprey by Nick, on Flickr

I went back to check out the nest at Matsqui Trail Park (Sunday morning) and I had to wait quite a while before I saw the chick again. It was doing some preening and watching, no sign of the adults. Osprey by Nick, on Flickr
