Late last week I stopped by Sunshine Valley. I enjoyed seeing several families of Yellow Warbler, a hen Barrow’s Goldeneye with five ducklings and three Gray Catbirds. One was near the ice rink and the second was across the road to the east. When I came back to my car the first bird was still there and I could hear one singing from across the little lake. I was a little surprised to see them as in earlier visits I didn’t hear nor see them. They like to hide but they like to sing and easiest to find earlier in the season. The two I saw were adults but breeding is highly likely.
