Yesterday evening I went to check the Hope Sewage Lagoons to see if the Semipalmated Sandpipers reported on the 1st where still there. There were four of them with two Least Sandpiper. All were adult birds on their way from breeding. It's quite astonishing how quickly they return and how short a time they're on the breeding grounds. The juveniles will start to show up in the coming weeks when they can fly. 019_9036 by Gord G, on Flickr 019_9049 by Gord G, on Flickr
