New yard bird for me! There is a large group of Black Swifts feeding over my house right now just a block east of Sardis Library. I don’t see them very often, so I hadn’t remembered how big they are! That wingspan certainly sets them apart from similar-shaped birds. They’re also flying at uncharacteristically low altitude for this species; there must be something good to eat in the skies above the valley floor today.

We had some as well this morning overhead! They are certainly cool. Bet you they were the same flock you saw as we're not far from you.
Monday evening there were three flying overhead around 9:00. They were chasing each other and twittering away. I wonder where they are nesting/roosting given it was getting dark!
