Today we saw our first Hairy Woodpecker young. Two arrived with their parents. They were well fed as both looked bigger than the parents. The Spotted Towhee babies arrived a few days ago. Of course, the first Robin baby arrived. He somehow survived the onslaught of the crows. The Steller's Jay chicks are quiet in their nest in the maple tree near our driveway. The parents are so careful not to attract attention. We keep as far away as possible, but are looking forward to watching the feeding frenzy when they leave the nest. Soon the Downy Woodpeckers should be bringing their young around soon. As I write this a baby Red-Winged Blackbird arrived with its parents. The cycle of life continues and brings such joy.

Hi Dave We are having a great year with the bird visits to our backyard wetland. Across the wetland, we hear the happy sounds of your children playing in your back yard. Having a big yard must help keep the kids busy during these times. We are lucky to have so much wildlife in the wetland between our back yards. Our appreciation for nature never stops growing. Love the work you and the others do on the website. Wishing you and your family well.
Mike
