My dad and I went with Ed up to North Bend, in the Fraser Canyon. The main highlight here was several Veerys, which was also a lifer for me . We also saw our FOS Evening grosbeak, and heard our FOS Red-eyed vireos. Several species of warblers were heard as well, along with a Gray catbird.
After birding, my dad and I did some exploring up the North Bend Forest Service Road.
At a random stop, I happened to look in the right spot, and noticed this Sooty grouse eyeing me from the shadows: Sooty grouse by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr I suspect the bird may have had chicks hiding somewhere.
