We went to Bert Brink wildlife area off Cannor Rd to look for Lazulis. We didn't find any but did find lots of Western Tanagers.

Wonderful capture, I have not heard of Bert Brink Wildlife area, where would that be? I want to find a new area for Lazuli Buntings. I also spotted my first Western Tanager of the year during my after dinner walk around the block. Unfortunately by the time I got home to get the camera and got back it was gone.
I Googled for the site and it seems likely that after the destruction of the birding location at the end of North Parallel Rd that the birds moved over the river to this Bert Brink Wildlife area. In years past it was this time of the year that Western Tanagers were plentiful there along with several Lazuli Buntings. So rather than go to Jesperson Dike tomorrow I will check out this Bert Brink area.
