I was taking advantage of my un(der)employment yesterday and doing some work on my deck when I noticed a feeding flock in a large birch tree at the side of my deck. It included: Black-capped chickadees (of course) Ruby-crowned kinglets Yellow-rumped warblers Warbling vireo Black-throated gray warbler Townsend's warbler Wilson's warbler I managed to get my first photos of BTG warbler: My horse chestnut has started to bloom as well and the hummingbirds love it. Here is a female Anna from May 5: And a poor picture of the warbling vireo: Today I walked around my place and noted that the YR warbler have pretty much moved on. I only had 1 OC warbler but 8 Wilson's warblers. It interesting to see how the different warbler species move through at different times. I also had my first Pacific-slope flycatcher calling (singing?) today. Here is a Wilson's warbler with a nice catch: And a brown creeper - I find thesse guys so hard to photograph and I'm still waiting for a grade A photo. They always seem to be in very poor lighting and move so quickly!

Some wonderful images! I particularly like your captures of the Black-throated Gray Warblers, I rarely see them and usually at quite a distance high up. If you have to be isolated at home at least it is a magical place with lots of wild things to see.
