We went to look for the Egret Ann reported at Wilband this afternoon. We didn't locate it but did find a Green Heron at the new bridge (south end). On to the DND fields where we found an odd Hawk. I took a few pictures through the link fence. We met Ed at the Page Road parking lot and he said he had just seen an interesting hawk too, in the same location. Here are a few pics; I think it may be a juvenile Swainsons. Opinions welcome. The closest similar image I could find is here; www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/swainsons-hawk#photo2Dian spotted a Western KIngbird in the Page Rd. Parking lot. Maybe the same one Klaus found a few days ago.

Looks pretty much like the juvenile Swainsons on the second picture off the site you posted.

I'd go for a Swainson's as well. A flight shot would have been a bonus. Nice find!

I'd go for a Swainson's as well. A flight shot would have been a bonus. Nice find! We did see it flying. There was no red in the tail. I know this is not a definitive characteristic of a Redtail but puts some doubt on it being one. Unfortunately, we were in the car and couldn't get a shot. May get out there again today.

Ed saw it fly too and noted the Swainson’s features as well. Lovely bird. Today’s a good day to watch for more. There’s raptors flying over all over today after the rains.
