Stopped by Hope Airport and the sewage ponds yesterday, highlights were a Nashville Warbler and 3 Vesper Sparrows. Rufous Hummingbird that stayed still long enough for a picture... Vesper Sparrows: Was hoping to get an ID for this empid. seen at the sewage ponds.

Great report and some nice birds there!
I'm going to go with Hammonds for your empid due to the small-appearing black bill and shortish tail as well as the slight circular eye ring and overall greyish colouration.

Dusky are worth watching for now. I haven't heard of any yet surprisingly but encountered two of them today at Island 22. Both I became aware of by their "whit" call notes. Hammond's have a sharper "Peek!" note. I have a recording of Dusky at the link below. The Hammond's call note should come after in the following video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PjwLijwy9M&t=9s
