I went to the Columbia Valley to see if I could spot the Bluebirds - they do disappear and then suddenly appear again... and with their brief appearance, was also a Yellow-rumped Warbler - my FOY Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata) by Gabi Cuff, on Flickr

You can add an orange-crowned warbler seen at Fishtrap Creek from the bridge between the two ponds. The feathers on the head were lifted up so the orange crown was clearly visible.

I saw an American Tree Sparrow at the extreme SE corner of Island 22. A fellow we met there said he saw 2 Blue Jays about a kilometer and a half farther along the dyke for 4 days in a row. We suggested Stellers Jays, but he said he knew the difference. We didn't have time for the extra walk so we turned back. I strongly suspect Mtn Bluebirds were seen, but who knows!?
* I returned today April 2nd and found 2 Belted Kingfishers....we may never know for sure.

Good work for March. We ended up with 115 species which is not too bad.
I also added Snow Goose who was with a nice flock of other waterfowl in a grassy field on Wolfe Road in Chilliwack. Among the American Wigeon were five Eurasian Wigeon (4 males and 1 female that I was able to see) and a hybrid American/Eurasian Wigeon male.
