January was a fairly good month for birds up here. There was about a ten day cold spell. I think the coldest it got was minus 45 with the wind chill. Other than that the weather has been great. The highlight came two weeks ago when I saw a Great Gray Owl. The following week I would see a Hawk Owl on the same patch of wires. They aren't very common up here this winter. This is the only one I have seen. Deer are very common but I don’t have too many photos of a buck. Yesterday, I saw a Northern Pygmy Owl but I didn't take my camera with me Finally, I have been seeing more Moose recently. I think with ore snow and cold weather they seem to be out in the open more.
