This afternoon while the family was outside enjoying the sun we watched a good kettle of raptors overhead. There were well over 20 Bald Eagles. We then saw one with wings held a bit in a V like a Turkey Vulture will do. I was even about to say "Hey, a Vulture!" when it banked and we could see the white in the wings and tail of a young Golden Eagle. This is actually the second time we've seen one in our yard as a few years back in a similar situation we saw one. There were also three Red-tailed Hawks, a Merlin, some Ravens and gull circling overhead as well. A good show. Some distant shots as the Golden Eagle circled higher while I was getting my camera. The one of it in a bit of clouds actually shows the markings better. 019_5542 by Gord G, on Flickr 019_5544 by Gord G, on Flickr
