This late afternoon we had a very unexpected visitor. Walking up to the door I flushed a Wilson's Snipe that had been hiding in the leaves against the house. It had either bumped the window or was forced down by a sudden hailstorm that had just ended a few minutes earlier. It flew very strongly and landed again next door looking alert. After seeming to get bearings it was up and away. You just never know what will show up in an urban setting.

Yes a new one! If I had to guess how we'd ever get one on our yard list it would be one in flight over the house.
