There has been an American Tree Sparrow the last couple days at the Harrison Lagoon. Walking the path between lagoon and the lake watch for it in the grass. Also there was a Pacific Loon and a pair of White-winged Scoter out on the lake. Some Surf Scoter, lots of Red-necked and Western Grebe as well. I saw my first of the fall Bufflehead yesterday and also a young Northern Shrike at Hope Airport. 019_3484 by Gord G, on Flickr

That's a really nice shot of the sparrow. I was at Harrison this morning but did not see or hear a single sparrow, except for a couple of juncos. Several loud off-leash dogs might have been part of the reason for that.

I went there this AM. Got the grebes and loons. Surf Scoter as well, but no White-winged, and no tree sparrow.

The 2 American tree sparrows were continuing yesterday afternoon(November 1). Saw them together about halfway round the path between the lagoon and the lake. Saw no other sparrows at all there, not even a song sparrow, which I thought was strange. Perhaps fewer small birds in general since they paved the boat launch parking lot? Also a Pacific and a common loon around by the art gallery, 1 horned grebe by the boat launch.
