We have been watching a poor Northern Flicker that has a lame leg that he cannot use. However, he has been an inspiration as he has adjusted and been able to cling to trees with one leg. He is a little awkward landing on the suet feeders but it has not stopped him. We do not know the cause of this lame leg.

Poor guy. It's lucky to have your yard to help him out and maybe the leg will heal.
