I am hard on boots, put on many kilometers annually on them and as such have gone through many pairs over the years. I have tried quite a few brands and styles of hiking boots seeking ones that will last and keep my feet dry. On average, I wouldn't get much more than a year out of them. I think I have found ones that I will be going back to when it's time to get another pair. They are Vasque brand and the ones I'm currently wearing, (almost two years now and still going strong and in great shape) are St. Elias GTX Hikers but unfortunately it looks like they're possibly not being made any longer. I did find some here although they seem to be on clearance and out of stock. www.atmosphere.ca/product/vasque-mens-st-elias-gtx-hiking-boots-brown-grey-332040837.html#Some research suggests that the St. Elias FG Backpacking Boot is fairly similar and unless when trying them on they feel like concrete slippers I will be buying these guys next. www.mec.ca/en/product/5062-976/St-Elias-FG-Gore-Tex-Backpacking-BootThought I'd share the 'review' as I think many of us on here like to go off the beaten path in pursuit of our hobby.
