I spent just under two weeks along the northern part of the Oregon coast. I have been there before when I was younger a few times. While not 100% a birding trip there were many opportunities for birding, and I managed to tally 94 species, with 4 lifers and quite a few species I have rarely seen. The lifers were Wrentit, Hermit Warbler, Snowy Plover and Wandering Tattler. The only really miss was a Black Phoebe. Gulls were frequently seen, mostly California, Western and Glaucous-winged. Couldn’t get a good shot of a Western but these California Gulls obliged There were a few Heermann’s Gulls. My favourite gull that I have seen Snowy Plovers breed along the coast. Luckily I saw a few of them on the beach Cedar Waxwings were very common This Great Blue Heron posed nicely Northern Alligator Lizard? Tillamook Rock Lighthouse which appears Sea Lions have taken over Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach is great place to view breeding seabirds. Puffins breed here but too far away for a decent photo Brandt’s Cormorants Hermit Warbler I think this is Three Arch Rocks. I'll do a part two in a few days which will have a list of the species I saw.

I'm jealous! I love the Oregon Coast. I can't wait to get back.
The lizard is indeed a Northern Alligator Lizard. The Southern Alligator Lizard also resides in Oregon and southcentral Washington. The difference being eye colour. Northerns have a dark eye whereas Southerns have a yellow eye.
