A couple nights ago laying in bed I heard a Barn Owl screech followed a few seconds latter by a Common Nighthawk calling several times. Easy birding if there ever was!

Very nice! New ones for the yard? I'm waiting to hear a nighthawk at my place!

Lucky guy! If I leave my windows open all I hear are the neighbours talking and the cats fighting!

A couple years ago my cat woke me up and seemed quite insistent I go into the spare bedroom where she frequently sleeps. I was sitting on the edge of the bed and I heard very clear and very close a Barred Owl. It had to have been perched on the roof just above the slightly open window. I was not worried about my cat's safety but it kind of answered the question as where all the rabbits we use to have had gone.
