This spring we noticed bunches of material in various locations on trees in Jackman Flats. Today we found one close to the ground that we could examine. They are last years bird nests and made almost entirely of shredded plastic twine gathered from the neighbouring fields I presume. Even inside the nest there is very little organic matter. Not sure what bird would have made them but I am thinking Oriole or Vireo??

That is likely a Bullock's Oriole nest. I have also seen some plastic strands in a similar nest.
