Close Encounter of the Best Kind

I have spent a lot of time looking for Mountain Bluebirds the last few weeks and today I had a great encounter with them at the Hope Airpark. I spotted 10 out on the runway and pulled up along side the chain link fence to check them out. I guess they figured they would do the same thing as 7 of them landed on the chain link fence about 50 feet away from me. Several of them went down onto the ground in front of my truck to check out a muddy spot. One found a sand or grit covered worm that it played with before discarding it. Several more worked their way down the fence towards me, a couple stopped about 15 feet away.
