Interesting. For those who missed the news Flickr is changing the way they operate. The unlimited free account is being replaced with a limit of 1000 images. The paid account "Pro" will still be unlimited. I suspect this is due to unwise business decisions by previous owners who gave everyone a free dumping ground for their images. I remember when they did that I knew it could not last. That amount of data takes a lot of storage space and I think all photographer who use the service are lucky Flickr did not just go belly up and people would have lost their images. If you spend any time on Flickr you will see a lot of garbage images and it makes you wonder why you would bother saving them, no one needs a dozen photos of blurry meals of fast food, those people can all migrate to Instagram.
I know a couple photographers who regularly post their images for a month or two and then they clean them all off and start anew. Flickr remains a great service even with the changes.
