My dad, myself, and a friend hiked from Twin Lakes to High Pass. This was the first we had ever done this trail. Though it wasn't a birding hike, I still saw/heard a decent number of birds. This trail has amazing scenery: North Cascades by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr The bird highlight was a pair of Sooty grouse. One of the birds stayed put long enough for us to have good views of it: Sooty grouse by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr The list: Sooty grouse 2 N Pygmy-owl 1 (heard) Common raven 1 (heard) CB chickadee 1 (heard) GC kinglet 3 (heard) American robin 2 Evening grosbeak 5 (heard) Pine siskin (heard)
