Hi all
On August 29/18 I left early for Revelstoke. The first good bird of the day was at 0745 in Sicamous in the form of a low flyover Sandhill Crane.
I arrived at 9 Mile Point south of the Revelstoke Airport at 09:00. I found the limited plover habitat to have recent off road vehicle tire tracks throughout it and no sign of the Plover
I walked the spit and in the many Yellow-dumped Warblers were a Red-eyed Vireo and a Least Flycatcher. Overhead were a Horned Lark and many Black Swifts.
I headed back to the tip and still no plover. I scanned to the north and saw a large group of Canada Geese on a gravel bar. They flushed and I then noticed a small pale bird running along the sandy edge of the bar, the Snowy Plover.
After watching the Plover I headed back to Revelstoke and noted a white bird out in the marsh off of Goch Road, upon closer inspection it was a Great Egret, what a surprise
It was a slow rainy drive home, but great for the forest fire fighting efforts
Good Birding

Good to hear there was some rain in the interior. That was a great find; not only a Snowy Plover but a Great Egret.

Danny, congrats on the find and thanks for sharing about your trip. It's just a bit more rewarding when the target bird needs to be hunted down a bit! Good find on the egret as well.
