Edit: Pictures were taken yesterday, mid-day. The first bird is, I think, a spruce grouse? I adjusted the exposure slightly after the fact. The bird was completely unconcerned by our presence about 4 feet away; she was grazing on some of the greenery and there was a juvenile bird a few feet further away. Spruce grouse? I have spent a while trying to turn this second bird into a dusky flycatcher rather than posting it as an empid. sp. and now my head hurts. There is not enough detail here for me to ID the bird from these pics. It was flying down to catch insects on or near the ground from a perch about 5 feet up. At the edge of a clearing along the Strawberry Flats trail, not alongside a stream. Did not get any pictures of it from the front but it did not give the impression of having a lot of yellow colour. Bill seemed to have a fair bit of orange on the lower mandible. Annoyingly silent. I wasn't able to stay and watch it for long because I was walking with a non-birder whose patience was wearing out after spending ages watching the grouse. DSC_0584 by

First one is a Spruce Grouse. Last one I would say a Hammond's but could be wrong with that.
