There's a good chance they are! The habitat is very pleasing to Spotted Sandpipers.

Bert, this afternoon I encountered a very agitated Spotted Sandpiper down along the Fraser not too far from the hwy. bridge. She, he, it, went into the broken wing display much as the Kildeer do when you're close to their nest or young. It seems unlikely that it would do that without a reason. Actually I have encountered them in this same location a few times over the years so it's almost certain they're nesting here. Was that shot with the Olympus?

Yes it was Murray! The 300/4 with 1.4 teleconverter has been my lens of choice for the past 2 years. I don't use a tripod any longer! Spotted Sandpiper 6s by BirderBert, on Flickr

Thanks Bert. Any idea what that outfit is going for now? I could look it up but might get the wrong model as they're changing so fast now.
