We had our first of spring today; a male at our feeder and red currents. This is the latest we've had them in the yard by far. I've also just started to see them myself in other areas over the last few days. I've heard of reports from others locally. How are others feel about them so far? Are they on time and in typical numbers?

I had one female a week or so ago and caught a glimpse of a male the other day but I haven't seen any other than those ones. Looking back at some eBird records it seems that I have certainly seen them in late March or early April but I haven't logged all sightings from the kitchen window necessarily.

I started seeing them around the Fraser and Vedder rivers at the end of March (the 28th). My first for Ryder lake was the 5th. I don't quite know how this compares to most years as my early spring birding has been inconsistent.
