We are having quite a nice time watching the birds passing through our back woods. Today a Townsends Solitaire was feeding on our lawn. It would perch in a tree and would dive onto the lawn to grab a grub. Also, saw a Yellow rumped Warbler feeding with the many American Gold Finchs and Pine Siskins. Regular visits from male and female Downy, Hairy and Pileated woodpeckers. They must be attracted to the dead trees damaged in an ice storm a few years ago. The Evening Grosbeaks arrived last week but have moved on. Juncos and Black Cap Chickadees are still around, but the Varied Thrushes and Chestnut-back Chickadees have left.
