I was hoping to hear that the Rock Wrens came back but if they were there you'd see them Hank. I've been enjoying following along with the peregrines. Great to see they're doing well.

Thank you Joanne and Gord. Yes i have been looking for them also but other than hearing the male for 5 days in May of 2017 i have not seen them. There are birds that come back to the same spot each year like the L:azuli Bunting but not the Wrens. After photographing the Peregrine`s since 2015 i have wondered where do the juveniles go when they leave in July and they don`t seem to come back to the valley like the adults. I should say i did hear one of the 2016 hatch until August and then again briefly in April of 2017 both times she was across the river from McDonald Park but nothing since.

This morning I dropped in to check out the Peregrine Falcon nest. Zack has been keeping us updated and my camera lens is just a little short to get good images of the young birds so I had not really spent any time there this spring. I ran into Zack and as he was showing me the location one of the parents showed up with breakfast and landed on the ledge. It took a while and a lot of images but it turned out that there are four babies. Three were together on one section of the ledge and another which at the time I thought was one of the parents turned out to be another juvenile sitting on a separate rock. It did not partake in breakfast which seemed strange but maybe this bird is not as aggressive as the other ones. The parent is very noisy as she flies; screaming as she takes to the air, a little odd. But since she is feeding 4 young she has the right to scream that is a lot of food to get.
