I posted a few pics of birds seen on our trip to Borneo, but thought maybe some people might like to see other wildlife as well. We spent 2 weeks at the beginning of November in Borneo and really enjoyed the whole trip. We stayed at 3 different 'jungle lodges' and each time had a small cabin or bungalow, simple but with fans or air-conditioning. We found the heat of the day is bearable if you can go back to a cool room at night. November is a slow tourist season because its the beginning of the rainy season, but those of us from the Fraser Valley are used to rain! Mostly it rained at night and we only got caught in it once, like standing in a warm shower! Being the slow season we were usually the only ones there and had private tours with our guide. Most days we did game drives either at dawn or dusk, sometimes on foot, but usually either by boat or in the back of a truck.
We saw lots of primates. The most abundant are the long tail macaques. They stayed on the deck just outside our cabin at one spot. This one looks like he had too many peanuts.

this is a Sun Bear in a sanctuary. They are getting to be rare. They are named for the yellow v on the chest, have long tongues because they like to eat honey.

this is a silvered leaf monkey, found in Bako National Park. They are quite shy.

a large male Orangutan, showing us how to drink coconut milk. We watched him smash on a tree trunk to break it open.

another Proboscis monkey. They are only found in Borneo and in declining numbers.

This is a long nosed Borneo pig. I wouldn't have got quite so close myself! They were used to people, but still wild.

I expect to spend all winter going through and editing pictures.
