Yesterday en route to the beginning of a hectic day I checked out the little flooded field to see what was there. I was delighted to see a Solitary Sandpiper and Semipalmated Plover keeping each other company. At dark they were still there. First time Ive seen a 'Semi Plover out this way and also the first time Ive seen a Solitary Sandpiper in the spring. Today on the way out the door to church the plover was still there, this time keeping a Western Sandpiper company. I like this bird's choice of friends...wonder if a Black-necked Stilt is next...;D ;D The plover was still there at dark tonight. Three new species for the May list!
