Midday at Harrison Lagoon as I was finishing a quick walk I heard Least Sandpiper and the flat Pik Pik calls of Red-necked Phalaropes somewhere overhead. They landed briefly before continuing on south. One has to wonder what things stop briefly then carry on when no one's looking. There were eight Least Sandpiper, three Semipalmated Plover and two Red-necked Phalarope. Quite the mixed little flock.
