I made a trip to Keremeos, Princeton and Manning Park. My trip was not completely birding but I did make time for it. One of my favorite birds from the interior is the Black-billed Magpie and I managed to see 4 on the way to Keremeos and managed to get this shot on my way back near Hedley Black-billed Magpie by Nick, on Flickr August Lake south of Princeton has been a reliable place for some to see Willianson's Sapsuckers. It took me a number of trips before I got my first one last year there. This spring I found a male calling out and being chased by a possible female, ( she remained hidden while I was there). I also heard my first Hermit Thrush of the year there singing amongst the trees. Williamson's Sapsucker by Nick, on Flickr While trying to photograph Rufous Hummingbirds at the store near the Manning Park Lodge I spotted this Red-napped Sapsucker fly into the tree between the washroom building and the store. It did not stay or in the clear for as long as I would have liked but it saved me a trip to Lightening Lake to look for them. Red-naped Sapsucker (male) by Nick, on Flickr The Keremeos area was new for me and I was not familiar with the area yet so I did not manage any worthwhile images but hopefully later in the year.

Looks like a good trip Nick. I have always wanted to try for the Williamsons in that area. Nice shots!

It's a great area to visit Nick. Love that Magpie shot!
Upper Bench/Barcelo road is a nice short detour. It is just north of Keremeos and then comes out at at the highway just east of Cawston. In Cawston Ginty's Pond is also a nice place to visit.
I have never visited August Lake in Princeton but I have gone to Swan Lake and that's a nice area.

Thank you for taking the time to look and Chris thanks for the suggestions of possible birding sites.
